A MUM rushed to remove a vodka bottle from her BMW before helping an injured passenger after smashing into a beach at 80mph. Boswell-Morgan, who pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving, was instead handed a two year sentence suspended for two years. The court was told she had been driving with two male pals in June last year when they reached a lane that comes to a dead end at a car park and down to the sea. She suddenly accelerated to around 80mph as her friends begged her to slow down. The BMW travelled up to 32ft after it plunged down the embankment onto the pebble beach below. Boswell-Morgan and her front seat passenger both escaped without injury. But Mr Quinn had to be cut from the car and suffered four fractures to the skull, a bleed to the brain, multiple bone contusions and a fracture to the spine and fingers. In a victim impact statement, he said: ...I'm still suffering the effects of these injuries and will do for the foreseeable future. "I'm fearful that these after-effects will be with me for years to come and I've been depressed to the point of staying in my room and avoiding others. ...At times I wish I had died." The court was told Boswell-Morgan had a small amount of cannabis in her system but it was below the legal limit of 2mcg. As well as a suspended sentence, she was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and was banned from driving for two years.
