US Politics | Hurricane Nicole 2022 path tracker — Storm batters Florida leaving five dead and ‘sharks’ in the streets
HURRICANE Nicole has pummeled the Florida coast since making landfall early Thursday morning and at least five people have been killed. Two people in Orange County died after being electrocuted by a downed power line, the Orange County Sheriff's Office has confirmed. Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings also confirmed that two others died in a car crash on Florida's Turnpike in what's likely storm-related deaths. Another death was reported after a woman called 911 saying that her husband was in distress. The couple were found on their yacht in Lee Wenner Park and paramedics performed CPR on the man but he was later pronounced dead in hospital. Nicole, a Category 1 Hurricane, brought intense rain and winds of up to 75mph, causing nearly 500 flight cancelations in Orlando and left tens of thousands without power.
