A DEVOTED dog owner sold her car to help pay for an op for her chihuahua. Jac Williams, 54, raised £15,000 by flogging her two-year-old Nissan Qashqai to help treat pet Louie's diseased heart valve.

The ex-veterinary nurse raised £15,000 by flogging her two-year-old Nissan Qashqai The ex-veterinary nurse and RSPCA worker also dipped into her inheritance. Louie is doing well following the £17,500 op at the Royal Veterinary College and Jac has no regrets. Married Jac, from Wareham, Dorset, said: "Louie's only ten and chihuahuas can live to 16 or 17. "Although it was an awful lot of money, I thought I owed it to him. He's such a sweet little dog. I love him to bits. "He had the surgery and he's done amazingly. He's a little superstar. ...I know it's a lot of money, but at the end of the day, if you love your dog that much, at least there's an option.... ...His surgeon was very pleased with his progress. ...Everything is looking good and we can gradually start getting back to normal with exercise with another check-up in February....
