A MISSOURI man has pleaded guilty to the murder of two brothers after they boarded a flight but never returned home. The meeting took place on July 21, 2019. The brothers were later reported missing by their father, who said they had flown to nearby Kansas City but never returned. Their last known location was a farm in Braymer, Caldwell County, Missouri. Clinton County Sheriff Larry Fish said that human remains were found burned under a pile of manure. DNA testing revealed that they belonged to one of the two missing men. Remains of the other brother were found months later in a Lincoln County, Nebraska livestock trailer that had reportedly been purchased from Missouri. The brothers were meeting with Nelson to discuss a ...financial issue,... according to charging documents obtained by the Kansas City Star. Nelson reportedly owed the brothers $250,000 for cattle, their father told police. As the criminal proceedings were underway, the brothers' family reached a $2million settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit. "I'm sick to my stomach right now," Pam Diemel, the boys' mother, said. "Life is very empty without them here." Nick Diemel's wife Lisa spoke out in court, describing the last text she received from her husband the day before he was killed. It read: "Good night and I love you." "Nick and Justin were living their dream operating Diemel's Livestock with their brother Brandon," Lisa said. And to her husband she wrote: "I spent over half my life loving you and never would have imagined raising our four children on my own without you. ...We had big plans for our family's future and it has been unimaginably hard coming to terms that I will forever navigate this life without you."
