THE KENLY Police Department lost most of its staff on July 20, 2022. With the police chief and full-time officers resigning, Kenly now has only three part-time police officers for the town. 
A police officer for over two decades, Josh Gibson resigned on July 20, 2022Facebook Kenly, with a population of approximately 2,000 people, is now dealing with an empty police station. Aside from five police staff, two town clerks also hopped on the bandwagon and left. The staff accused the new town manager of creating a hostile work environment.
