HORROR footage shows the mangled wreckage of an ambulance after it collided with a car. A hero paramedic \- said to be on his way to an emergency call \- suffered serious injuries and had to be cut from the vehicle.

Fire crews were forced to use heavy-duty equipment to free the paramedic from the ambulance. He suffered serious injuries in the early morning collision with a blue Mercedes. The wreckage of the Mercedes, which appears to have been impacted on the driver's side of the vehicle, can also be seen in the clip.
