HOLIDAY flings get hot and steamy four times faster than normal dates, research has revealed. Half of couples who meet on holiday — both in the UK and abroad — end up romping straight after their first date, a poll found.

How quickly people have sex It usually takes four dates on average before new partners get intimate in their regular, day-to-day lives. More than six in ten of those questioned said they were more open to sex on holiday because they felt free to go for it. Jessica Leoni, of dating site Illicitencounters which polled 1,000 adults, said: "People have a real 'seize the moment' attitude when they are away on holiday and they commit sexually far quicker than they would at home. "It seems the sunshine and a new environment is intoxicating and the shackles come off." Having sex with someone after meeting in a nightclub required two dates, against three for meeting on a dating website. Blind dates took four dates, the gym involved six — but getting steamy with a work colleague involved seven rendezvous.
