Computer evidence reportedly showed that Stacey wrote Ashley's "suicide" letter with two drafts discovered during the crime investigation. Officials took Stacey Castor to court, where a jury determined she lied about her husband's deaths and her daughter's suicide attempt. She was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of David Castor, attempted murder of her daughter, and forging Castor's will. In 2009, Stacey was sentenced to 51 years to life in prison.
