Former President Donald Trump baselessly claimed that Alec Baldwin may need purposefully shot crew members on the set of the film "Rust."
The firing of a prop gun by Baldwin on set led to the demise of the director of images, Halyna Hutchins, and injured the director, Joel Souza.
"He is a troubled man. There's one thing incorrect with him. I've watched him for years. He will get into fistfights with reporters," Donald Trump advised conservative radio host Chris Stigall in a podcast on Thursday.
"He is a cuckoo-bird, he is a nutjob. And often, when there's someone like that, you recognize, for my part, he had one thing to do with it."
Alec Baldwin has described the occasion as a "tragic accident." Within the police affidavit, Baldwin stated that he was advised that the gun was not loaded.
