A YOUNG K-pop star who appeared in a popular boy band competition series was among those killed in the horrific Seoul stampede on Saturday. Singer and actor Lee Jihan died in the tragic Itaewon crush that claimed the lives of at least 153 people, agencies representing the budding star said. He was 24.

Friends from the series took to social media to mourn the loss of the gone-too-soon singer and actor, Billboard reported. Park Heeseok and Kim Dohyun shared funeral information for Jihan on their Instagram stories and offered their condolences to the artist. After he appeared on the competition show, Jihan moved into acting, starring in the Korean drama Today Was Another Namhyun Day in 2019.
