 Dozens of vehicles set to lose 5-star safety ratings
A significant number of new cars – including a ute, a convertible, and a host of popular SUV models – have been stripped of their five star safety ratings from ANCAP as of December 31, 2023. The independent crash testing group confirmed recently that its test ratings would now have a six-year expiry date in order to prevent carmakers from advertising vehicles as five star rated more than six years after they undertook testing – whilst also encouraging carmakers to have their vehicles tested more frequently.
