Busch Valentine won with 43 percent of the votes and will be running against Republican Attorney General Eric Schmitt. Speaking to her supporters on August 2, Busch Valentine said: "You believed in me and my vision for a kinder, stronger Missouri. ...And after hundreds of career politicians, it's time for a nurse in the Senate."
