A GIRL died after falling over 100 feet while hiking at a popular trail. The 10-year-old girl was visiting the Garden of the Gods trail at the Shawnee National Forest with her family on Friday afternoon.

She was flown to a nearby hospital but succumbed to her injuries. The girl was identified by local news outlets as Everly Montgomery of Odon, Indiana. "Our hearts and prayers go out to the family of our elementary teacher, Mrs. Montgomery, whose daughter Everly passed away following a tragic accident on Friday," read a statement by North Daviess Community Schools.
