SHORTLY after a mass shooting occurred at a Top's supermarket in Buffalo, New York, a suspect was taken into custody. Payton Gendron, 19, has since been accused of killing 10 people in what prosecutors are calling a racially motivated attack.

Gendron was wearing military gear and carrying a rifle into the store while live-streaming the tragic event on Twitch. Gendron reportedly drove over 200 miles to carry out the attack, and would have carried out a second attack if he was not apprehended at Tops. The shooting quickly gained national attention and happened just 10 days before 19 students and two teachers were fatally shot by Salvador Ramos at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
