TEEN Mom OG's fired Ryan Edwards has been ordered to pay the court in his $290K car crash lawsuit after losing his MTV paycheck. Ryan, 33, was sued by Tennessee residents James and Janet Byrne for negligence after he was involved in a car accident back in August 2018.

But The Sun can exclusively reveal the parties settled before the court showdown. In court papers obtained by The Sun, Ryan was ordered to pay court costs from the case. Plaintiffs James and Janet agreed to pay medical expenses and accident costs. RYAN SUED As The Sun has extensively reported, James, the driver of a 1997 Nissan pickup truck, claimed Ryan "negligently and recklessly" rear-ended him with his 2018 Ford pickup truck. The alleged victim claimed Ryan drove with his dog in the front passenger seat, as he "should have known" the dog would "interfere" with his driving.

He alleged the former MTV star followed the Nissan "too closely," failed to adjust his speed and didn't "keep a lookout." The driver claimed he sustained bodily injuries, including vertigo, which causes "permanent episodic dizziness." The alleged victim also claimed to have suffered physical impairment and disability, physical pain and suffering, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, and medical, rehabilitation and medication expenses." The driver also alleged his wife "suffered and will suffer a loss of the companionship" as a result of his injuries. The Plaintiffs asked for $260,000 in injuries, damages and losses, and $30,000 to his wife for her loss of companionship. RYAN RESPONDS Maci Bookout's baby daddy responded to the lawsuit in August 2019. Ryan said he could "neither admit nor deny" that James was stopped at a red traffic signal. The father of four denied all of the claims against him, including that his "negligence" and ...recklessness" caused the car crash. In an amended answer, Ryan "admits fault for causing and contributing to the accident at issue, but denies that his actions were reckless or intentional in any way." Ahead of the trial, Ryan filed a motion to "prohibit proof or questioning as to the Defendant's prior criminal or drug activities that were not in any way related with the motor vehicle accident at issue." The court papers continued: "Defendant has conceded simple fault for causing the accident at issue, and these other matters would be extraneous, irrelevant, confusing, unfairly prejudicial and unduly burdensome to the Defendant." DRUG ADDICTION Ryan was referring to his battle with addiction, which has been discussed on Teen Mom OG. The dad of four's legal trouble with drugs started in March 2017 when he was issued a citation for simple possession of heroin. According to the citation, 14 hypodermic needles, one filled with heroin, was found during a search of his car. A bag was tied to the center of the console with a dark substance inside, Ryan told police: "It's heroin and I have a problem." Ryan was not arrested and was instead issued a misdemeanor citation for simple possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. He pleaded guilty to the simple possession of heroin charge and was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail, which was suspended. The ex TV star was caught on camera slurring his words and nodding off while on his way to his wedding with wife Mackenzie on the series that aired in 2017. During the shocking car ride, Mackenzie punched her husband on the shoulder to wake him up and steered the wheel for him as he swerved. She accused him of taking Xanax, which he denied at the time. It was announced that Ryan checked into rehab for the second time after the episode aired. Then in March 2018, he was arrested for petition to revoke when he failed a court-ordered drug test. Ryan was arrested again in July 2018 for breaking probation from a past possession of heroin charge and received probation. He completed his third rehab stint in November 2018. But Ryan was arrested again in January 2019 for breaking probation from a past possession of heroin charge and was sentenced to 90 days in jail, which he served. Ryan told The Sun earlier this year that he is sober. SHOW FIRING Ryan, Mackenzie and his parents, Jen and Larry, were fired from Teen Mom OG in March after his dad's blowout fight with Maci's husband, Taylor McKinney, on the reunion special. The feud started when Maci refused to allow Ryan to see Bentley until he agreed to go to therapy with him. Ryan and Mackenzie have appeared on the first few episodes of the current season, as Maci shut down her attempts to reconcile. MORE MONEY TROUBLE The court pay up isn't the only bad news Ryan and his wife have received regarding their finances. Mackenzie, 24, and her ex-husband Zach Stephens were involved in a nasty custody battle over their son Hudson, seven. The custody war was "settled" in March 2021, as the parents resolved "all issues" in mediation. Part of the agreement ordered Mackenzie to pay $260 a month in child support after years of Zach providing her with money for their son. Mackenzie's monthly income was listed as $8,750, while Zach's is $3,805. The amount was before she was let go from the show. Mackenzie is now working in insurance sales, while Ryan fabricates buggies from the ground up.
