IKEA are set to offer customers mini 100-square-foot homes for just 75p a month with plans that have wowed locals. The Swedish gian'ts Japanese branch announced their Tiny Homes project in the tiny Shinjuku neighbourhood of Tokyo this week \- releasing a range of stunning floor plans. 702InstagramIt is equipped with a compact set of amenities such as Ikea furniture and a kitchenette '/ ' 702InstagramThe tiny house is on the market for a mere 75p a month '/ ' According to Business Insider, the split-level flat will be kitted out with Ikea furniture, a kitchenette and bathroom and a loft style sleeping area accompanied by a step ladder. There's also room for a washing machine and fridge, a foldable table and adjustable shelving for storage space. On the down side, tenants must also pay for their own utilities and cope with a mere 32 square feet of main living area. In comparison, the UK government's minimum space requirement for a single person dwelling stands at 37 square feet. But, the standout feature is the price and location, with the property situated adjacent to the famous Shinjuku Station as well as the surrounding business district and nightlife. A spokesperson for Ikea Japan told Insider, one Shinjuku apartment is currently on the market with a short-term lease that runs till January 2023. Applications are expected to be open in early December. It comes just a month after the Swedish giant announced plans to launch a new IKEA building, with hostel beds, beer taps and an in-house cinema in Vienna.
