Simpson released a cover of "Particles" by Nothing But Thieves on Thursday.
"The entire concept of music heals is a really actual assertion to me. This track healed a damaged piece of me," the pop star wrote within the description of the video uploaded to YouTube.
In a Twitter thread posted earlier this month, Simpson shared a photograph of herself from when she was dwelling with habit in 2017.
"I had a lot self discovery to unlock and discover," she wrote of her previous self.
"I can't consider it has been 4yrs! It seems like perhaps 2," she added, referencing what number of years she has been sober.
Simpson stated she discovered to "permit myself to take again my mild, present victory over my inner battle of self-respect, and courageous this world with piercing readability."
"The consuming wasn't the difficulty. I used to be. I didn't love myself. I didn't respect my very own energy. Right now I do," she added.
She concluded: "I'm free."
