A Victorian faculty has admitted it missed the mark after asking all male college students to face up in an meeting to apologise for his or her gender within the wake of the justice for women movement.

Schoolboys from Brauer School in Warrnambool have been requested to face in a "symbolic gesture of apology" on behalf of their gender, at an entire faculty meeting discussing respect for ladies this week.

The transfer sparked uproar from mother and father, with many slamming the gesture as "inappropriate".

Mom Danielle Shepherd advised 3AW's Neil Mitchell this morning her Yr 7 son was left feeling "confused and upset" by the act.

"He stated that they needed to watch a video and as soon as they watched the video, they have been all requested to face in solidarity to apologise to the feminine gender on behalf of their gender, which he wasn't positive 100 per cent why," she stated.

"He now has this false impression that each one boys at the moment are checked out as predators."

Principal Jane Boyle in a press release stated in hindsight, the gesture was "inappropriate".

"Boys have been requested to face as a symbolic gesture of apology for the behaviours of their gender which have harm or offended women and girls," she stated.

"On reflection, whereas well-intended, we recognise that this a part of the meeting was inappropriate.

"In the present day, the varsity is contacting mother and father to elucidate the explanations behind the meeting and to make sure that any scholar who requires help is conscious that it's obtainable."

Ms Shepherd stated she didn't consider the varsity had any "malice" intentions, however that they had obtained it "incorrect" on this event.

"It wasn't a really thought-out course of, I do not assume, by the varsity," she stated.

"I perceive what they have been making an attempt to advertise, they've simply utterly gone about it the mistaken method."
